RE: Kitsu Downtime

March 20, 2019 By malupdaterosxdev

Update: Kitsu raised enough funding and they will be back up online within 24 hours. Once Kitsu is back online, I will submit the fixed versions of Shukofukurou for macOS and iOS.

Update 2: Kitsu is now back online!

Apparently, Kitsu ran out of funding and we do not know when they will be back up. However, if you are using Shukofukurou for macOS, you will be able to export your lists to MAL XML format, which you can use to import to other services such as MyAnimeList (which Shukofukurou currently do not support due to the lack of APIs) and AniList.

Make sure you are using the latest version, 3.2.7. The title identifier conversion process now uses Hato instead of relying on mapping data on Kitsu.

To export your list, go to Tools > Export Converted Lists and pick whichever options you want.

To import to AniList, on the AniList website go to the Settings > Import Lists and drag the exported converted Kitsu list to the upload area. Your list should import to AniList. Note that there are some titles on Kitsu that won’t import on AniList.

Note that there is currently an issue with OAuth for AniList. We are waiting for a fix.

We will keep you posted on Kitsu’s status. If Kitsu shuts down, we will release an update only providing AniList support for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.
